How Reward Orbit Began and What Inspires Us
Reward Orbit began with a simple belief: basketball should feel welcoming, light, and easy to start for anyone. When our founder came to Abu Dhabi, they often heard people near courts say things like, "I'm not in shape," or "I'm worried the coach will be too strict." After a relaxed game with friends and a playful joke about having a "top court" kind of day, that moment turned into a real mission — to build a basketball school where people can show up as they are, without feeling judged, pushed too hard, or made to feel like they do not belong.
In the beginning, Reward Orbit was very small: one court and a handful of people who were simply curious to try. That first group looked nothing like a typical basketball academy. One person had never played before, another was a busy parent who only wanted to move more and clear their head after work, and a quiet teenager was trying to enjoy basketball again after time away. Instead of loud shouting and endless tiring drills, our founder kept everything slower, used clear words, and treated mistakes as a normal part of learning. There was a lot of laughter, plenty of missed shots, and many "let's try again" moments — and that is where the true spirit of Reward Orbit was formed.
After that, our community grew in a natural way. More people joined, and we brought in coaches who share the same approach: stay patient, stay respectful, and support people in an honest way. Our coaches do not stand far away and call out instructions. They work close to you, explain each move in small steps, and practise it with you until it starts to feel smooth and comfortable in your body. Whether your goal is a stronger shot, more controlled dribbling, quicker footwork, or simply a healthier weekly routine in Abu Dhabi, we shape the training around your life instead of forcing you into one strict system.
Today, Reward Orbit feels more like a warm basketball community than a strict academy. Kids learn that missing a shot and trying again is completely normal. Adults finally start the basketball journey they have delayed for years. Friends and families meet on our court and turn training into a weekly habit they genuinely look forward to. For us, success is not only about perfect form or a strong scoreboard. The real success is that quiet moment when someone walks away thinking, "I always believed basketball wasn't for me, but now it feels possible."
